Industrial Visit
A study tour to Navadarshana De-addiction Centre, Kattapana was organized by the Department of Biochemistry, Presentation College of Applied Sciences, Puthenvelikara, for fourth semester UG-VAC students on 06/02/2026. The students received an overview of the centre’s operations, including patient intake procedures, treatment protocols, counseling methods, and rehabilitation processes.
World Food Day
The Department of Biochemistry, in association with the Bioscience Club and IQAC of Presentation College of Applied Science, Puthenvelikara, organized a seminar titled “Avoiding Junk Food for a Healthier Tomorrow” on 16/10/2025 at 3.00 PM in the Seminar Hall as part of World Food Day observance for PG students. The session was led by Smt. Shidhu V S, Public Health Inspector Grade II, Aluva Municipality.The interactive programme effectively created awareness about balanced nutrition and encouraged students to make informed food choices for a healthier future.
Memory Game Test
As part of Alzheimer’s Day observance, the Department of Biochemistry organized a memory game challenge titled “Mind Maze” on 22nd September 2025 at 10:30 am in the Smart Classroom to promote awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and the importance of memory. The prizes were distributed by Rev. Fr. Shaju Kurisinkal and Rev. Fr. Nivin Kalarithara. The programme was interactive and successfully conveyed awareness through active student participation.

4. Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Industry Partner: The institution has achieved a significant milestone by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Presentation College of Applied Sciences, Puthenvelikara and Eccetra Career Counselling Pvt. Ltd. This collaborative initiative aims to strengthen academic-industry linkage and enhance student employability and professional competence.

Ms Geena Jose (HOD) (June 2024) presented a paper entitled “Exploring Phytochemical Diversity: Solvent Based Extraction of Makhota dewa Fruit for Medicinal Applications” in an International Conference organized by the Centre for Tropical Biodiversity Conservation-CTBC, in association with the M S Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF), at Farook College (Autonomous) Kerala.
