ED Club

The Entrepreneurship Development (ED) Club aims to nurture an entrepreneurial mindset among students by providing practical exposure, skill development, and innovation-focused activities. The club encourages students to identify opportunities, develop creative solutions, and gain confidence to start their own ventures. Through workshops, expert talks, industrial visits, and hands-on projects, members learn essential entrepreneurial, managerial, and leadership skills. The ED Club also promotes financial literacy, idea generation, and teamwork through structured programmes and competitions. It serves as a platform for students to interact with successful entrepreneurs and understand real-world business challenges. Overall, the club works to inspire young innovators and empower them to become future entrepreneurs who contribute meaningfully to society and the economy.

Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Kerala formulated a scheme to set up Entrepreneurship Development Clubs in schools and colleges of the State to inculcate entrepreneurial culture amongst youth and equip them with the skills, techniques and confidence to act as torch-bearers of enterprise for the new generation.

The ED Club organised an Industrial Visit to Mother's Rice Mill, Angamaly, on 10 October 2024 at 10:00 AM. The visit was conducted as part of the club’s academic and co-curricular initiatives aimed at providing experiential learning opportunities to students. A total of40 ED Club members, accompanied by two faculty coordinators, participated in the industrial visit. The students were warmly received by the officials of the rice mill, who provided an overview of the organisation’s history, operational structure, and market presence. During the visit, students were guided through various sections of the mill, including the procurement area, processing units, quality testing section, packaging division, and storage facilities. The technical staff explained each stage of rice processing, from raw paddy selection to final packaging and distribution. Special emphasis was given to quality assurance measures, hygiene standards, machinery utilisation, and inventory management practices. The interactive session with the industry experts enabled students to clarify their doubts regarding production efficiency, cost control, branding, and market competition. The exposure helped students understand how theoretical concepts such as supply chain management, cost accounting, and production planning are implemented in real-world scenarios.

Following the ED Club inauguration, a dedicated session was held with Mr. Sebastian Baisel Morris, a successful entrepreneur and distinguished alumnus. Returning to his alma mater, Mr. Morris shared his personal journey from student to business owner, offering practical advice on overcoming startup hurdles and identifying market opportunities. The interaction provided students with a relatable roadmap for transitioning from academic learning to real-world enterprise

The final segment of the day featured an interactive session focused on peer-to-peer learning. Student entrepreneurs Mr Christy Antony and Mr Amal Kumar PS led the discussion, sharing their experiences in balancing academic responsibilities with running a business. They focused on the initial steps to launching a venture as students. Utilising campus resources for networking. Practical tips for managing time and small-scale operations.

On September 22, 2025, a group of 37 students from the ED club, accompanied by two faculty members from Presentation College of Applied Sciences, Puthenvelikkara, had the valuable opportunity to attend the Machinery Expo Kerala 2025. This premier exhibition, held at the state-of-the -art KINFRA International Exhibition Centre in Kakkanad, served as a dynamic platform showcasing the latest advancements in industrial machinery and automation technology. The visit was organised to provide students with practical insights into the manufacturing sector, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world industrial applications.

Event: Official Inauguration of the Entrepreneurship Development (ED) Club The Entrepreneurship Development (ED) Club was officially inaugurated on October 3 at 1:30 PM. The launch was jointly led by Principal Feby FAS and Chief Guest Mr. Tharun Kumar VR (Assistant District Industries Officer). Following the inaugural ceremony, expert sessions were conducted by resource persons Mr. Muhammed Rasheed CA and Mr. Sharath KM, who shared valuable insights on business development and entrepreneurship with the attendees.
