In today’s techno-savvy era, Science and Technology revolutionized every nook and corner of the world. Therefore, Biotechnology is also mushrooming everywhere. In the Biotechnology field, biosciences and technology manipulate living organisms as well as the biological system to compose products. And those products are very beneficial for mankind. This course is totally related to food, agriculture, healthcare, environmental, pharmacy, etc. Biotechnology is the use of living systems and organisms to develop or make products, or “any technological application that uses biological systems, living organisms or derivatives thereof, to make or modify products or processes for specific use”

We the department of Biotechnology began functioning in the year 2002, with teachers and students in for Bachelors and in 2003 for Masters as well.
The students of Biotechnology are given training in the identification of genes that confer a high degree of resistance to disease on animals and plants. The department has well equipped laboratories with sophisticated instruments like cooling centrifuge, multipurpose electrophoresis system, spectrophotometer, etc.
The scope of Biotechnology is immense because it is an innovative branch of science that has become popular among youngsters as it provides the various scope of career growth in Pharmaceutical sector, Biological Sciences, Healthcare, Food Processing Industry, Food and Chemical Industries seek Biotechnology Professionals for handling positions of Production Engineers, Quality Control Analyst, etc.
